Beckers Opens Coil Coating Sustainable Innovation Center In The UK

Liverpool, UK - Beckers Group announces the opening of FutureLab, which will focus on the development of coil coatings. The new building in Liverpool, UK, effectively doubles the capacity of Beckers’ long-term development department, enhancing the company’s ability to make more sustainable coatings.

FutureLab features several new pieces of equipment that will be key for future developments, such as the enhancement of UV/EB coatings. Sustainability features have been incorporated into its design and build, including Beckers’ own thermal-control coating on the roof that reduces the amount of energy needed to heat the building, an active carbon filtration system on a VOC exhaust chimney and heat pumps to reduce CO2 emissions related to heating.

Furthermore, a customized experience room is ready for all customers and partners to collaborate with Beckers on future developments. These features enhance the functionality and efficiency of the FutureLab, and align with Beckers’ commitment to pioneering positive impact and innovation in the industry.

It was noted that the center aims to act as a hub for creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge research, while contributing to society by promoting education and local job opportunities.

FutureLab was inaugurated at a full-day event on September 26 by Jenny Lindén Urnes, the owner of Lindéngruppen, and Fabio Pedrazzi, the CEO of Lindéngruppen. The event featured presentations, tours of the new facility, and discussions on the future of sustainable innovation at Beckers.
