Modern Mountain Home In Utah Named MRA's Best Residential Metal Roofing Project For Q1 2025

MRA-Q1-2025
A beautiful metal roof on a Park City, Utah home was named Best Residential Metal Roofing Project winner by Metal Roofing Alliance.

Portland, OR – It is the stunning combination of style and performance benefits perfectly matched with its setting that makes this quarter’s winner of the Metal Roofing Alliance’s (MRA) Best Metal Roofing Project competition a true standout.

Tucked in the mountainous landscape of Park City, this breathtaking home required a roofing system that could stand up to the region’s harsh climate, while complementing the home’s sleek architectural design. As the manufacturer and the installer of the roof, Viotell Metal Concepts used Coated Metals Group’s (CMG) Dark Bronze PVDF standing seam metal, a choice that ensures both performance and aesthetic appeal.

The home’s quality metal roof not only provides crisp, clean lines that contrast beautifully against the rugged mountain backdrop, it is designed to deliver outstanding performance as well. The mechanically seamed, double lock design minimizes maintenance needs and provides a watertight profile that offers superior weather resistance and durability for decades to come. It is also exceptionally strong yet lightweight, able to withstand high winds, the heavy snow loads and ice, and temperature fluctuations that the region frequently experiences. A snow guard retention system from MRA member S-5! also helps ensure snow loads will shed safely, protecting the home, its occupants and the surrounding landscape.

“The balance of contemporary style and functional performance makes this project an exceptional example of metal roofing’s versatility,” said Renee Ramey, MRA Executive Director.

The metal roof uses CMG’s PVDF coating, which features a 40-year finish warranty and is tested for durability against abrasion. With a tight job site, limited access, and high elevations, installation of the approximately 7,500 square foot roof also drew high praise for its difficulty, efficiency and careful attention to detail. By combining advanced metal fabrication, expert installation, and a refined aesthetic, this project showcases the advantages of standing seam metal in high-altitude environments.

“This project highlights our team’s unwavering dedication to excellence and our commitment to delivering innovative solutions to clients who demand the very best in craftsmanship and quality,” said Anthony Ortega at Viotell Metal Concepts. "We’re honored to receive this recognition from the Metal Roofing Alliance and deeply grateful to our hardworking craftsmen whose skill, pride, and attention to detail make it all possible."

With this phase of the competition now closed, the search is on for MRA’s Best Residential Metal Roofing project for the second quarter of 2025. Open to U.S. and Canada homeowners, contractors, installers and manufacturers, MRA partners with Metal Coffee Shop to select an outstanding metal roofing project based on entries received each quarter.
