MCA's Insulated Panel Alliance Offering Free AIA-Accredited Webinar June 3

MCA-Webinar

Chicago, IL – The Metal Construction Association’s Insulated Metal Panel Alliance will present a webinar titled “Building the Perfect Wall with Insulated Metal Panels” on June 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET. Hosted by The Architect’s Newspaper and presented by Tim Leach of Nucor Corporation, this continuing education course is free to attend and qualifies for 1 AIA Health, Safety, and Welfare Learning Unit (HSW LU).

Understanding building physics is critical to proper building envelope design. This course takes a complex subject and reduces it to a level that teaches practical concepts for the building designer. The course will review how various cladding systems perform across different climate zones and applications. Basic concepts, including environmental control layers and hygrothermal loads, will be covered. Emphasis is placed on the concept of the “Perfect/Universal Wall” and how utilizing the proper sequence of wall components can greatly simplify wall design in all climate zones. Insulated metal panels (IMPs) are a unique form of the “Perfect/Universal Wall” and the course will discuss how they perform the same functions as multi-component systems, simplifying wall system design and installation.

This webinar is ideal for architects, specifiers, and building professionals committed to advancing their understanding of envelope design and seeking practical solutions for high-performance construction.
