Cleveland, OH — The
Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has released its 2025 annual report, “Enhancing the Built Environment.” The report focuses on the many accomplishments
the association and its members have achieved over the past year, the drive to shape the future of the industry and the retirement of W. Lee Shoemaker, P.E.. Ph.D., longtime Director of Research and Engineering for MBMA. The report is available for

“The 2025 MBMA annual report speaks to the work that MBMA has done to
move the metal building systems industry forward,” says Christen Funk, MBMA chair. “It looks at the amazing things we’ve accomplished, such as the student design competition, the industry leading research that we continue to sponsor
and promote, and the prodigious legacy of Lee Shoemaker.”
The 2025 MBMA annual report includes:
• A review of accomplishments and award winners for the year.
• A management perspective on the transition to John Paul (JP) Cardin, P.E., as the new Director of Research and Engineering.
• A retrospective from
Lee Shoemaker on his decades with MBMA.
• An overview of the MBMA Design Competition for architectural students with a look at this year’s entries and prize winners.
• Year-end reports on accreditation, committee
initiatives, updated manuals and reports, and efforts to promote MBMA throughout the industry.
• Educational and technical resources available from MBMA.
“The 2025 annual report highlights another fine year for the association,” adds Tony Bouquot, MBMA general manager. “As we’ve grown throughout the year, 2025 has also been a year of transition with the anticipation
of Lee Shoemaker’s departure. We hired JP Cardin to take over Lee’s role which facilitated the smooth transfer of Lee’s responsibilities. We will miss Lee, as his work over the years has been invaluable, but we’ve got a great
technical team in place and are ready for the future. The MBMA staff, committee chairs, and volunteers work tirelessly, and they deserve the credit for the strength of our industry and our organization.”
