Bradbury Group Division Backs Homeschool Robotics Team

Moundridge, KS — Marion Die & Fixture, a division of The Bradbury Group,
sponsored the MCHomes Homeschool CO-OP Robotics team in its inaugural season competing in the Kansas BEST Robotics Competition.
MCHomes Mechanics focused on building a functional and competitive robot rather than competing for the full BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) Award. Over the course of eight weeks, the team worked to engineer, program and build the robot;
prepare an engineering notebook; and practice driving a strategy.
Battling with 17 teams from across Kansas, MCHomes battled through 26 seeding rounds, semifinals and four final rounds to ultimately finish third in the Performance category. It was quite the accomplishment for a first-year team whose motto throughout
the season was, “Let’s not finish last.”
The top three teams from the BEST Award category and two performance teams were invited to compete in regionals Dec. 6-7 in Wichita. MCHomes finished ahead of one competitor at that competition, making its first endeavor in the competition a rousing success.
