ClarkDietrich Launches Updated iTools App for Architects and Contractors

West Chester, OH – ClarkDietrich has unveiled a new version if its iTools app, featuring design and navigation improvements. Launched in 2013, ClarkDietrich iTools is a free online resource (accessible on desktop and mobile) for architects and contractors who are evaluating purchasing decisions and product selection for steel framing projects, providing access to design lookup tools, ClipExpress products, cost-saving calculators, sustainability options and product submittals.

Designed to be more visual, interactive and intuitive, the revamped iTools features a new infrastructure, redesigned lookup tools and enhancements to product navigation.

“The new ClarkDietrich iTools was built for better performance today, while allowing for additional innovation in the future,” said Mike Murzyn, marketing technology manager. “We invite architects and contractors to jump in, explore the tools and see how the new experience helps streamline their workflow, from concept to construction.”

The redesigned Lookup Tools now feature dynamic filters and a share button that lets users send a link to the exact filtered results they’re viewing. Additionally, two interior wall lookups are combined into a single, streamlined tool that now integrates with BIMsmith Forge®, enabling enhanced 3D visualization and BIM development.

Product Navigation enhancements include the ability to view products in an interactive 3D model or switch to a traditional product list. Coming soon, users can also look forward to expanded navigation options, including Interior and Exterior Finishing Products.

New Sustainability Calculators—including Embodied Carbon Calculators for structural and non-structural steel-framed walls, announced in December—help teams understand the carbon impact of their steel framing choices and evaluate options such as standard versus low embodied carbon steel to support lower-impact building designs. 

Looking ahead, ClarkDietrich is also working to integrate SubmittalPro® directly into its product pages for faster, more convenient access. SubmittalPro enables users to view information about any ClarkDietrich products as individual PDFs, or select all products needed and create the final submittal as a single PDF.
