Atlas Tube Expands Shuriken™ Structural Nut Keeper Lineup

Chicago, IL – Atlas Tube, a Zekelman company, has expanded its Shuriken® Structural Nut Keeper line, introducing additional size options and integrations within the HSS Connections Hub™ to make it easier than ever to use Hollow Structural
Sections (HSS) in steel projects.
The Shuriken lineup now includes five total sizes to support a broader range of applications. Prior stocked sizes were 3/4", 7/8" and 1". Added March 25 was 5/8", and available beginning April 8 is 1-1/8".
The expanded lineup provides engineers and fabricators with greater flexibility to design across a wider range of HSS sizes, while continuing to deliver faster construction through the elimination of costly and time-consuming field welding. Shuriken enables
single-sided, field-bolted connections, simplifying steel erection and reducing labor demands on the jobsite.
Enhanced Design Support for Shuriken Through the HSS Connections Hub™
Atlas Tube has also expanded its HSS Connections Hub™ capabilities
to enable more design flexibility with Shuriken. The goal with these updates was to provide engineers and fabricators with new features to leverage the time and cost-savings opportunities associated with Shuriken applications.
New features include:
• Support for all five Shuriken sizes
• Adjustable bolt spacing for HSS splices
• HSS splices with a single row of bolts
