Petersen and Citadel Teaming Up to Present Fall Facades Building Envelope Webinar Series, Sept. 15-17

Elk Grove Village, IL – Petersen and Citadel Architectural Products are joining forces to present a three-day virtual
education series packed with expert guidance for better building envelopes, focusing specifically on architectural metal roofing, metal wall panels and composite cladding systems.
The sessions are designed to provide practical guidance to help architects and other design professionals recognize potential problems earlier, develop more effective details and select appropriate systems for demanding building-envelope applications.
Registrants can earn AIA credits for completing individual sessions or the complete series, while strengthening their understanding of architectural metal roofing and façade systems.
Webinars will be presented Sept. 15, 16 and 17 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET daily. Register here.
Session topics, descriptions are as follows:
SESSION ONE

Mistakes to Avoid When Designing Metal Roof Systems
Presented by Petersen and Brandon Jackson, Regional Group Manager, Carlisle Architectural Metals
Sept. 15, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET
An intermediate review of the multiple factors that affect the design of a standing-seam metal roof system—and when those factors should be addressed. The session examines slopes, penetrations, flashings, transitions, rooftop equipment and other
conditions through real-world examples of problems that can arise when important design considerations are overlooked or addressed too late. Attendees will learn how early coordination can reduce field complications, manage construction costs and
better reconcile owner and design-team expectations with installation realities.
SESSION TWO

The Art of Metal Wall Panels
Presented by Petersen and Robin Thompson, Regional Group Sales Manager, Carlisle Architectural Metals
Sept. 16, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET
An advanced review of exposed- and concealed-fastener metal wall panel profiles, proper applications and field-flashing details. The session uses practical examples to examine critical design requirements, common problem areas and the relationship between
panel selection, structural loads, environmental efficiency, sustainability and product performance. Attendees will gain insight into incorporating wind-load requirements and key flashing conditions during design development to support a watertight,
high-performing and visually successful wall-panel installation.
SESSION THREE

Metal Composite Material (MCM): Components, Systems, and Performance
Presented by Citadel Architectural Products and Sean Walker, Product Manager – MCM/G&G, Carlisle Architectural Metals
Sept. 17, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET
Metal composite material (MCM), also commonly referred to as aluminum composite material (ACM) when aluminum skins are used, offers designers a versatile cladding solution for a wide range of architectural applications. This course examines how panel
components, manufacturing methods, attachment systems, and application conditions influence performance, fabrication, and installation. Program content compares common barrier and rainscreen approaches, along with field-assembled and shop-fabricated
systems, and explores how these choices affect moisture management, constructability, and design execution. Participants develop a clearer basis for evaluating and selecting MCM products and systems for different façade applications and project
requirements.
