The beautiful new Crowder College McDonald County facility, located in Jane, Missouri, features metal building products from Metallic Building Company. The Metallic builder for the project was Farrell Construction Inc., who has developed a longstanding relationship with the college by working on projects with other departments of the school for the past few years.
Metallic Building Company, a leading brand for NCI Building Systems Inc., presented Farrell Construction Inc. Metallic’s 2013 Building of the Year Award for their work on Crowder College McDonald County. They served as the subcontractor, sold the steel, erected the building and Nabholz Construction served as the general contractor.
Cory Farrell, Vice President of Farrell Construction said, “The building has a modern feel and look. That’s the direction we are going in now to showcase that metal buildings can have a very contemporary look.” As a result of the building’s modern design, it was a challenge getting approvals and inspections because they had to educate inspectors on the newest look of metal building design. However, because of the company’s impeccable relationship with the city they were able to push through and complete the construction process in five months.
The building features include a 1:12 single slope roof, Double-Lok® roof panels, a partial mezzanine and a high side eave extension.

As a third generation owner of the company, Cory Farrell contributes the company’s success to his father, Dennis Farrell, who taught him how to prepare and the meaning of dedication.
