Using products from CENTRIA, the California State University Monterey Bay College of Business is a $43 million project created to house offices, labs, classrooms, conference rooms and student study areas. The goal of the design was to inspire learning. It incorporates natural light and other eco-friendly features to support a technology-rich learning environment. Sustainability played a major role in HMC Architects’ design for the Seaside, CA project.

CENTRIA’s Formawall Dimension Series insulated metal wall systems, Concept Series concealed fastener panels, EcoScreen perforated screenwall and C/S Louvers were chosen for their superior benefits in terms of aesthetics, performance and sustainability.

The design team appreciated the many options that Formawall Dimension Series provides, including thermal efficiency and moisture control in a single panelized component. Dimension Series insulated metal panels include a factory foamed-in-place core, minimizing insulation gaps, along with a thermal break between the face and the liner. The panels offer superior weather resistance by utilizing pressure equalization along the length of the horizontal joinery.

With a balance of both efficiency and aesthetics, these insulated panels offer an innovative and contemporary choice for any building exterior. With CENTRIA’s advanced thermal and moisture protection (ATMP®) technology, the Formawall Dimension series product line ensures thermal efficiency as well as moisture control in a single panel. An insulated metal vertical (IMV) joint provides a clean, uninterrupted appearance.

The CENTRIA Concept Series concealed fastener panels are versatile, providing thousands of combinations of articulation, shadows and sight lines, along with a complete line of finish, integration, special systems and detail options. The smooth, Silver Elite-colored panels gave the building a clean, contemporary look.

With concealed fasteners and a common-lock joint, Concept Series concealed fastener panels can be mixed for interesting custom-profiled wall relief. The panels can be installed vertically or horizontally and have an unbroken appearance that further adds to Concept Series concealed fastener panels' versatility. Panels are also available in two surface textures – stucco embossed or smooth.

CENTRIA’s Ecoscreen perforated screenwall panels provided the unique façade with an airy aesthetic. Often used to blend industrial and other applications with their surroundings, Ecoscreen can also be used for custom applications to create unique design elements. The panels can be installed vertically or horizontally and are available with coated aluminum and uncoated stainless steel substrates.

CENTRIA partners with Construction Specialties, Inc. (C/S Group) to offer C/S Louvers. This product integrates with CENTRIA products to provide critical protection in areas where buildings need it most - where components meet. Architects can solve challenges effectively and efficiently with this integrated solution.
