As the biggest single healthcare project in the history of Shelby County, AL, the new South Tower at Shelby Baptist Medical Center features over 100 new private patient rooms, an intensive care unit twice the size as the previous unit, and a new covered patient pickup and drop off area. In addition, the 167,712 square foot tower combines the latest technology and equipment to provide patient comfort and family-friendly conveniences in the new modern facility.
The four-story addition includes 37,000 square feet of Bright Silver Omega-Lite aluminum composite panels, manufactured by Laminators Incorporated of Hatfield, PA. Omega-Lite was selected for the project due to its cost effectiveness over other competitive cladding systems.
Companies involved with the Shelby Baptist Hospital South Tower project include Tro Jung/Brannen, Inc. of Birmingham, AL, and Robins & Morton, also of Birmingham. The panels were installed by Abrams Architectural Products of Austell, GA.
