Odell Associates has designed a number of buildings in and around Richmond, VA for the Bon Secours Richmond Health System. Among the most recent is the St. Mary’s Medical Office Building on the campus of St. Mary’s Hospital.
The building was designed in accordance with Odell’s master plan for the St. Mary’s Hospital and helps define the hospital campus’ northern edge. It reinforces the main campus thoroughfare on the east with a curved glass wall, while a glass cylinder on the west serves as the focal point of a new campus entrance. Walkways and landscaping integrate the project into the medical center.
The main entrance on the west side is also marked by a modern canopy wrapped predominantly with Champagne-finished Omega-Lite® aluminum composite material panels. The Omega-Lite material—manufactured by Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA—was fabricated into panels and installed by Whitley Service Roofing of Richmond, VA, using Laminators’ Rout & Return attachment system. Approximately 2,100 sq. ft. of the metal wall panels were needed to complete the job.
Woolfolk Construction of Richmond handled the project’s general contracting duties.
