You won’t find Aloft Hotels everywhere, but someday you might. The chain launched in 2008 with the construction of its flagship hotel at the Trudeau International Airport in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Since that time, more than 50 additional Aloft Hotels have been built. Among them is the one in Chesapeake, VA. Completed in 2010, that hotel is distinguishable by the ALPOLIC ACM woven into both its interior and exterior design.

With research indicating consumers were ready to a new kind of hotel, the Aloft brand was conceived as that alternative. It offers a uniquely urban style and social atmosphere, without being pretentious or expensive. The chain tries to ensure its guests’ stays are fun and memorable, and to that end uses quirky lingo to describe its amenities. The swimming pool, for example, is referred to as a “splash”.

The formula has worked well to this point and expectations are that by 2013, Aloft Hotels will have expanded to at least 70 locations the world over.

The Chesapeake Aloft Hotel was one of a number completed in 2010. To ensure this property would live up to the reputation of the brand, Jonathan Nehmer & Associates, Inc. of Rockville, MD incorporated three colors (Pantone Yellow #584, Pantone Blue #292 and Custom Gray) of 4mm-thick ALPOLIC ACM and MCM on the interior and exterior of the building. The PE-cored panels can be found on at the hotel’s entryways, fascias, canopies, accents and walls. Handling the fabrication and installation was Roof Services Corporation of Virginia Beach, VA.
