Over 30,000 sq. ft. of 1"-thick Thermolite™ aluminum composite insulating panels were utilized as infill in the curtain wall facade of the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel. The panels have an R-value of 4.25 and were provided in two Kynar 500®-based colors, Coppertone and Mission Red.
The hotel is 31 stories tall with over 1,000 guest rooms. It is the largest hotel in the state and was designed by Arquitectonica, Miami, FL. The panels were installed by K.T. Fabrication Inc. of Chandler, AZ. Perini Building Co., Phoenix, was the general contractor.
Thermolite panels are designed to fit into standard 1" insulating glass and glazing pockets and are available in over 40 colors, in smooth or embossed finishes. They are manufactured by Laminators Inc. of Hatfield, PA and can be cut to size in the factory or at the job site using standard carpentry tools.
