Dri-Design panels highlight the façades of a three-phase renovation and expansion of the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort in St. Michael, ND. The project includes the addition of two new ballrooms and a new executive conference center plus renovation of the hotel’s main lobby and auditorium.

Approximately 7,117 sq. ft. of Dri-Design .080 aluminum panels finished in Macadamia and Hopsack was installed on the first phase of the project. The patented Dri-Design Wall Panel System is an affordable dry joint, pressure-equalized rainscreen system.

Notably, the horizontal band around the building and at the cornice utilized Dri-Design’s Shadow Series panels which allow the designer to change the depth of the panel to create interesting shadow lines and reveals. Each individual panel face is capable of extending in varying depths from 5/8” to 4” while the substrate stays on the same plane.

The panels were installed by CMS, LLC, Grand Forks, ND. “Phase One was our first experience with the Dri-Design system,” recalled CMS owner Dave Maszk. “We worked well as a team with the folks at Dri-Design and have used the system on the subsequent two phases of the project. Everyone is really pleased with the results.”

Design for the project was provided by EAPC Architects Engineers, Fargo, ND.
