With good bones but a tired look, Ivy Architectural Innovations of Virginia Beach, VA, was able to breathe new life into the look of a local church by replacing its weathered board and batten Cypress siding with smooth, modern aluminum composite material wall panels. The product it chose for the project was Omega-Lite® by Laminators Inc., Hatfield, PA.
The Omega-Lite® panels specified for the Church of the Ascension renovation have .032” aluminum face sheets and a factory-applied Bright Silver PVDF paint finish. They were installed by Baker Roofing of Norfolk LLC of Norfolk, VA, using Laminators’ patented Clip & Caulk attachment system.
“The church wanted a new, more contemporary material that would provide long life and low maintenance,” said a statement about the project by Laminators Inc. “Omega-Lite panels were selected for their smooth, modern appearance, 20-year warranty on the finish, competitive cost and ease of installation.
In all, some 4,000 sq. ft. of the panels were utilized on the project.
