Holy Family Catholic Church, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, began 51 years ago in a much smaller facility. As years passed, the congregation began to grow, so that the church now has about 1,900 families and 4,500 members. Holy Family School offers kindergarten through eighth grade, and many of the students are also members of the church.
In 2005, Holy Family Catholic Church was renovated and a metal roof was installed. CB Goldsmith and Associates designed the church and F.G. Metals in Largo, FL, installed the roof. ATAS International Inc.’s 2” Field-Lok panel was chosen to complete the project because of the ATAS International Inc.’s weather tight warranty program, and the architect’s preferences for this type of roof.
ATAS International Inc.’s 2” Field-Lok panel is a mechanical field seamed panel system. The double locked structural panel can meet the most severe load requirements. For aesthetic reasons or personal preference, the panel can be seamed with a single fold displaying a broader seam. The single fold meets the needs for a structural panel, while providing the practicality of a weathertight roof.
The material chosen for the Field-Lok panels on the Holy Family Catholic Church was .032 aluminum. 20,000 square feet of material was used and the color chosen was Coppertone.
