Direct Metals, an international steel service center with locations in Kennesaw, GA and Waukegan, IL, provided custom aluminum perforated metal in the construction of the Tunica Riverpark & Museum in Tunica, Mississippi.
The .125" thick aluminum perforated metal was supplied in three different perforation patterns to give depth and artistic flair to the front façade of the Riverpark building. One-third of the job had a 3/4" diameter hole, the second-third had a 1" diameter hole and the remaining perforated metal was supplied with a 1-1/4" diameter hole. The aluminum perforated metal was fastened to a curved galvanized steel tubing frame to create a custom masterpiece.
The Riverpark & Museum celebrates the history and presence of the Mississippi River and Delta culture. The building includes a 2,100 sq. ft. lobby, an observation platform that overlooks the river, an aquarium with four large marine exhibits, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for hosting weddings, meetings and receptions. Visitors also enjoy nature trails situated on the grounds and riverboat cruises on the historic Tunica Queen.
