Shelburne Green Business Park

The Shelburne Green Business Park in Shelburne, VT, offers 40,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space in a setting reminiscent of an old New England town. And while its earliest buildings are more than half a century old, the development as a whole looks brand new thanks to a just-completed renovation that saw original wall claddings replaced with new insulated metal panel systems from Lewisville, TX-based Metl-Span.

The Shelburne Green development began with the construction of a single 15,000 sq. ft. building back in the 1950s. After that, additions came as needed using primarily pre-engineered metal building technology. Dan Cameron of DHCameron Construction Company summed up the park as a “smorgasbord of attached buildings.”

J. Graham Goldsmith Architects of Burlington, VT was called upon to develop a renovation plan for the development with Cameron’s company, operating out of North Ferrisburgh, VT, handling both the general contracting duties and the installation of the approximately 36,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span panels. The profiles, colors and applications included: Light Mesa in Polar White and Silver, installed vertically; CF Fluted in Polar White, Silver and Zactique, installed horizontally; and 7.2 Insul-Rib in Bright Red, installed vertically.

“Right off the bat, we recommended using Metl-Span,” Cameron said. “We’ve done a couple of million square feet of Metl-Span wall panels and have great confidence in the people and the products. We particularly like the fact that the panels are finished on both sides. One tenant of Shelburne Green has test kitchens in its space and the inside finish provides a clean, washable surface that offers great R-value. The panels lock together nicely. It’s easy to use.”
