Eaglewood Fire Station #82

Metal Building System From Varco Pruden Buildings Provides Function And Aesthetics For Fire Station

Utilizing a metal building system from Varco Pruden Buildings, a division of BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc., the new Eaglewood Fire Station #82 features both function and aesthetics.

Varco Pruden’s Rigid Frame system and SSR roofing are highlighted on this Salt Lake City, Utah, facility that was completed in February 2009.

The three-bay fire station includes ribbed metal panels that cover the interior walls and an integrated structural system with structural masonry walls. The exterior includes outdoor and parking area lighting, and aluminum storefront windows in the two-story entrance mezzanine. In addition to the three vehicle bays, the fire station has a kitchen, break room, workout area and six dorms.

The Varco Pruden Builder was Ascent Construction, Inc. of Centerville, Utah. The project was designed by PGA&W Architects of Murray, Utah. The fire station is part of the South Davis Metro Fire Agency, Bountiful, Utah.

“The quality of construction of this building far exceeded our expectations, said Steve Cox, Fire Marshall, South Davis Metro Fire. “Using a VP pre-engineered structure in the design helped us save money and built value into our fire station. Ascent was easy to work with and worked hard to meet our needs.”
