The new Harper Fiat dealership in Knoxville, Tennessee boasts a grand showroom with parts and service departments. Interstate Steel Corp. of Knoxville, Tennessee worked with Vulcraft Verco Group, a supplier of steel joists, steel joist girders and steel decking, to complete the 11,500 sq. ft. facility.

Inside the showroom there is expansive glass, exposed bar joists and a deck painted Heart Throb red. The building includes a runway of white floor tiles mirrored by the curving soffit above. The parts department has room to grow with potential mezzanine storage. There is an enclosed service drop-off area with two wash bays that also has plans for expansion in the future.

The project used K Steel Joists and a 1.5B Steel Roof Deck.

For their work on the project, Interstate Steel Corp. was recognized as a winner of the 2014 NuHeights Design Awards by Vulcraft/Verco Group. The NuHeights Design Awards recognize outstanding design, architecture and the diverse applications of building with steel.
