Armetco RS4 Rainscreen Cladding Meets Project's Aesthetic Goals And Performance Requirements

An RS4 ACM rainscreen cladding system from Armetco Systems Inc. of Justin, TX, provided the refined look sought for the exterior of the JPS Health Network building in Fort Worth, TX. HKS Inc. of Dallas, TX, designed the 40,000 sq. ft. structure.

Armetco fabricated the rainscreen panels from Alucobond aluminum composite material with a Bone White paint finish. Alucobond is a product of Alcan Composites USA Inc., Mooresville, NC. The Armetco cladding system was chosen because of its clean, open look, and for its ability to easily accommodate desired architectural elements such as wide horizontal reveals and curved walls. Approximately 40,000 sq. ft. of panels were utilized on the project. In addition to serving as the primary wall system, the ACM panels were used to cover the stair towers, the sky bridge and the entrance canopies, and were used for the fascia and to wrap columns and beams. As per the project requirements, the RS4 system was required to successfully pass ASTM structural and water infiltration testing prior to its acceptance for use on the building.

MPG Erectors Inc. of Justin handled the installation of the aluminum composite panels while the Austin Building Company of Dallas, served as the general contractor. The project was completed in 2007.
