This stately home in the Martins Point area of Kitty Hawk, NC, showcases metal roofing by Metal-Fab Manufacturing (MetFab).

The home features 9,200 sq. ft. of MetFab’s Snap-On 500 panels. The 16”-wide panels were formed from .032 aluminum with a Slate Gray finish. The roofing contractor was Baker Roofing of Norfolk LLC, Norfolk, VA. The general contractor was Griggs & Company Homes, Point Harbor, NC.

Snap-On 550, with its unique locking seam, provides one of the best integral seam designs on the market today. The panel is also one of MetFab’s quickest to install, and can provide a weathertight seam without the use of sealants.

The Snap-On 550 profile can be installed on slopes as low as 3:12. This product has been tested by Underwriters Laboratory and has a UL 580 class 90 rating over open framing. Snap-On 550 comes in widths of 12”, 14”, 16”, 18” and 19” with a seam height of 1.5” and optional stiffer ribs and striation ribs available. The panels can be formed from galvanized steel with a Kynar 500® finish, Galvalume®-coated steel with a Kynar 500® finish, Galvalume Plus®, or aluminum with a Kynar 500® finish. Snap-On 550 can be factory manufactured and shipped to the job, or site run for continuous length panels.
