The Timberline Learning Center is the new childcare facility designed to provide affordable, quality care for 60 full-time children in the town of Breckenridge, CO. Since a nearby childcare center was closing soon, scheduling became a top priority for everyone involved with the project. Other project priorities included safety and security, sustainable design and budget.

With the project priorities in mind, Omega-Lite, an aluminum composite panel manufactured by Laminators Inc., was selected as one of the exterior cladding materials for the facility. According to Paul Riddell, of Riddell & Company, Inc, the Laminators’ distributor in Colorado who worked with Matthew Stais Architects in Breckenridge, CO, “We were able to achieve multiple design goals by incorporating Omega-Lite on the project. With the multitude of standard colors available and the short lead-time associated with receiving the product, the project was able to keep moving as planned. In addition to meeting scheduling requirements, the aluminum composite panels also helped towards creating a sustainable design due to the amount of their recycled content.”

Approximately 3,000 square-feet of Hemlock Green, Regal Blue, and Mission Red Omega-Lite panels were installed on the project using Black 1-Piece Tight-Fit Moldings. The different colors were used to identify the three primary classroom areas of the facility. Premier Roofing of Breckenridge, CO installed the panels using Laminators’ 1-Piece Tight-Fit Molding System.

TCD, Inc. of Breckenridge, CO was the general contractor for the project. The panels were supplied by Riddell and Company of Englewood, CO.
