B & D Dairy Farms of Pound, Wisconsin has a new rotary milking parlor to add to their extensive dairy farm, thanks to Keller Inc., an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder. The new parlor enhances the speed of the milking process for the large herd of cattle, as well as gives the employees extended office space and a new mechanical room.
Keller provided a traditional center-ridged roof slope with a clear span framing system, giving the farm unsurpassed flexibility in use of the 11,448-square-feet of interior space. The exterior of the building features split face block walls with a reflective white Long Span III roof panels.
The American Long Span III panel profile was recommended by Keller and chosen for its cost efficiency and ease of installment. The roof panels have 1-1/4 inch ribs on 12 inch centers for an even-shadowed appearance and are reinforced between the ribs for added strength. In addition, these panels are SmartKote® “cool” coated to reflect solar rays more effectively and reduce the amount of heat that is absorbed into the respective building, saving heating and cooling costs.
Headquartered in Kaukauna, Wis., Keller was awarded the 2013 ABC Excellence in Design Award in the category of agriculture for their work on B & D Dairy. ABC’s Excellence in Design Awards recognizes builders and roofers for their innovation and distinction in design.
