Bell County Expo Equestrian Center

Unique Equestrian Center Comes To Life With Aid Of Products From Varco Pruden Buildings

The Bell County Expo Equestrian Center is an equine livestock complex that is located on the west side of the expo campus in Belton, Texas. Featuring Rigid Frame, Continuous Beam and WideBay framing by Varco Pruden Buildings, the new facility measures 170,440 sq. ft.

Bell County Expo & Equestrian Center was selected as a winner in the Recreation category in the 2019 Varco Pruden Hall Of Fame presentation.

The heart of the facility is the 130' x 300' performance arena. Other areas include a 110' x 200' warm-up arena, 136 premium stalls, stock pens, priefert equipment, 800 permanent seats, private meeting rooms, a dedicated show office, a judges office and first aid room. There is also new premium RV parking at the center.

The design and structure of the facility allows for maximum event planning flexibility for the expo. The air conditioned main arena and bar area offer a unique venue, which was said to be non-existing in central Texas. The structure has a clean, modern appearance and initial feedback from users has been very positive.

The framing base of the columns are at various elevations throughout the structure, which has three floor levels at some locations. There were numerous roof height and wall to roof conditions. It was noted that one of the biggest challenges was the roofing system used on the facility. A lot of care and oversight by all parties was needed to ensure the quality of the installation. The metal roof is Varco Pruden Buildings' SSR profile formed from Galvalume-coated steel. The metal wall panels are the Vee Rib profile in Cool Metallic Silver and Straw Gold, along with ImpressaClad embossed metal panels.

Completed in May 2018, the Varco Pruden Builder was Sure Steel Inc. of South Weber, Utah. The designer was Hahnfeld, Hoffer, Stanford of Fort Worth, Texas.
