Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk, VA, is one of the fastest growing churches on the East Coast. To accommodate its growth, the church recently undertook a massive expansion that allows it to seat more than 10,000 people on a typical Sunday morning.
Barnes Design Group of Virginia Beach, VA, a specialist in religious facilities design, was commissioned to handle the expansion project. Its plan for the project called for a contemporary look, created using "materials of permanence" to reflect Calvary's ministry. To highlight entrances and symbolic entryway design features the architect utilized approximately 16,000 sq. ft. of Envelope 2000® rout and return wall panels from Citadel Architectural Products. The panels were provided in three colors: Silver Metallic, Matte Black and custom Princely Purple.
The Citadel panels were installed by Composite Wall Systems, Virginia Beach. The general contractor on the project was E.T. Gresham Company Inc. of Norfolk.
