When it comes to design-build construction, Monroeville-based Janotta & Herner is one of Northern Ohio's most recognizable names. The company is known both for the quality of its work and the diversity of its project portfolio. In addition to commercial, industrial and warehousing-related structures, the company's capabilities extend to emergency response facilities like the recently completed Camden Township Fire Station in Oberlin, OH. Utilized for that facility's construction were insulated metal wall and roof panel systems from Michigan-based FALK.
The Camden Township Fire Station represents an important investment in
community infrastructure and public safety. Designed to better support
emergency personnel and township operations, the facility provides
upgraded accommodations, operational efficiency, and a modern appearance
that reflects the township’s commitment to serving residents. Durability, long-term performance and the ability to provide a clean, modern appearance were all drivers leading to Janotta & Herner's decision to rely almost exclusively on FALK products for the new fire station's roof and walls.
For the walls, J & H chose FALK's HFW-40 insulated metal sandwich panels. The exterior face sheets of the panels have a Crimson Red Silicone-Modified Polyester (SMP) paint finish while the interior sides were finished with a Bright White Polyester paint to make them suitable to serve as the building's interior walls.
The concealed fastening HFW 40 panels feature a rigid, closed-cell polyisocyanurate plastic foam insulation core. The panels are available in thicknesses ranging from 2.5 to 8 inches, and can be ordered with various color/profile options. They can be installed vertically or horizontally and come in lengths to 82'. FALK recommends the versatile panels for exterior or interior applications in industrial, agricultural, or
residential projects.
On the roof, FALK supplied SSR-42
insulated metal roof panels with a PVDF paint finish in Charcoal.
The FALK SSR 42 roof panel offers a classic aesthetic and an
innovative all-in-one composite design, blending durable interior and
exterior faces with a foam core. As cost-effective as they are attractive, FALK SSR 42 panels provide a solid, weathertight seal and an extended service life, making them ideal for
commercial, industrial, and institutional venues. The panels boast high thermal
resistance values, energy efficiency, fire resistance, and ease of assembly.
