For decades now, metal building systems have been established as popular choices for office/warehouse operations throughout North America. So it’s not surprising to learn that a 160’ x 162’ Single Slope framing system by Varco Pruden Buildings is the framework for the new Charter Communications facility in Rochester, MN.
Varco Pruden’s SSR roofing, formed from Galvalume-coated steel, covers the structure while tilt-up concrete – 8-1/2” thick - was used for the exterior walls. The sloping building site was well suited for the positioning of offices at the front of the facility, complemented by 25’-high warehouse space in the back.
One of the many features of building is that it is well insulated. The roof carries an R-value of 32, while the walls are R-17.8 and the windows are R-4.
The 34,320 sq. ft. Charter Communications project was completed in January 2010.
The Varco Pruden Builder was AB Systems Inc. of Rochester, MN. AB Systems was also involved in the design, along with Ayshford Architecture Planning Inc. of Byron, MN.
