Families, Inc. Counseling Services is a private counseling agency with outpatient facilities throughout northeast and north central Arkansas. The new northeast Jonesboro facility is a four-story office building that includes offices, counseling spaces and a training room.
In addition to counseling services, Families, Inc. provides mental health paraprofessional intervention, psychological testing, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, screening and assessment, play therapy, school-based services, employee assistance programs, and education and training for mental health providers. The main goal of this building project was to centralize these numerous corporate operations and services at a single location to better serve both clients and healthcare professionals. Another goal was to create a welcoming, modern space that clients would find soothing. Architectural metal products from CENTRIA helped to achieve these goals.
Families Inc. was looking to create a building that conveyed its message of hope and healing. The organization achieved this with a mixed-medium building, constructed of brick, glass and metal, with the metal adding a contemporary element. Using metal also adds value by offering increased thermal efficiency through high R-values, as well as through a reduction in maintenance costs due to the durability of metal as a building product.
CENTRIA’S Formawall® Dimension Series® provides the corporate office and services facility with advanced thermal efficiency and moisture control in a single panelized component. In addition, Formawall Dimension Series panels provide a clean, uninterrupted appearance and interesting aesthetics with the use of different colors and thicknesses, exemplified by this building’s patterned corners. Compared to traditional multi-component wall construction, which typically requires up to seven separate components and multiple sub-contractors, Formawall Dimension Series is one component, which makes installation simple and leads to efficiencies in the construction process.
Formavue™ window systems are designed to integrate with Formawall Dimension Series, eliminating problems of coordinating window and metal panel intersections and resulting in a high performance window/panel interface. These window systems are attractive, weather-resistant and feature a standard thermal break.
