The mountain views from the Puesta Del Sol residence in Avon, CO are rivaled only by the striking architecture of the home that faces Beaver Creek ski area.  Designed for a creative couple that loved and demanded the highest quality in all aspects of amenities and materials, the 8,500 sq. ft. home revolves around three long gabled forms topped with RHEINZINK prePATINA blue-grey Double Lock Standing Seam Panels.

RKD Architects, Inc. of Edwards, CO, designed the home so that each of the three gabled spines ends with outward-leaning window walls that face toward different vistas.

RKD Architects has considerable experience with RHEINZINK, according to president Jack Snow, AIA. “We first used RHEINZINK on a Colorado residence in 1997 and it still looks great,” he said. “The RHEINZINK is very much at home in this type of mountain environment. It has become one of our favorite materials. I particularly like it on wall systems where you can see it more.  And it details nicely. I love the stuff!”

Installation of the 2,600 sq. ft. of RHEINZINK panels was completed by Plath Construction, Eagle, CO. The RHEINZINK distributors on the project were Gulfeagle Supply, Denver, and MetalTech—USA, Peachtree City, GA.

The general contractor was Shaeffer Hyde Construction, Avon, CO.
