The School District of Indian River County (SDIRC) has a new Support Services Complex, located in Vero Beach, Florida. The complex, built by Summit Construction of Vero Beach LLC, an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder, consists of an 80,000-square-foot metal building and CMU block building. The new building allows the school district to consolidate their many different departments. This cohesive building is saving the district valuable time and money by having all of the departments in a central location.
The single slope, ridge frame building was built with hemlock green Loc-Seam roof panels and Long Span III wall panels. The complex consists of a 60,000-square-foot warehouse for storage and workshops, an administration wing, test kitchen for the food service director, offices and storage for purchasing, maintenance, facilities, building department, transportation, IT and printing. There are also separate out-buildings for equipment storage, a vehicle wash and a fuel station.
Summit Construction of Vero Beach, LLC is a loyal builder to the Indian River County School District and has provided services for every campus. The project was awarded to them through the Design-Build Construction Management selection process.
Additionally, for their work on the project, Summit Construction was awarded first place in the 2014 ABC Excellence in Design Awards in the Government/Institutional category. The ABC Excellence in Design Awards program recognizes builders and roofers for their innovation in design and metal systems construction.
