Performance Qualities Lead To Specification Of Contrarian's InvariMatte® Stainless Steel On Aviation Project

Glare is a very real concern when specifying metal roofing for projects in close proximity to airports. And the low-glare characteristics of the material was one of the key reasons why Contrarian Metal Resources’ InvariMatte® stainless steel was specified for the Scottsdale Air Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Carter Burgess Architects designed the streamlined new building and chose InvariMatte material for its roof not only because it has a spectral gloss level lower than that of many paint finishes, but also because it’s a superior alternative to paint in high UV environments where jet fuel residue will likely be present. Plus the material looks great and is eco-friendly.

The material was fabricated into metal roofing for the project by Bemo USA of Mesa, AZ, and installed by Kovach Construction. W.E. O’Neil Contractors was the general contractor.
