AEP Span’s architectural metal panels were products of choice for Sutter Health’s new Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital which opened in October 2014.
The hospital features AEP Span’s 24-gauge Span Seam® roof panels in a custom Sienna color. The exterior walls and equipment screens are clad in 18-gauge Box Rib™ and Reverse Box Rib™ panels in Cool Weathered Copper, Cool Sierra Tan, and Cool Zinc Grey hues, all three of which are part of AEP Span’s Cool Dura Tech® 5000 standard color offering. Dura Tech® 5000 coatings combine the corrosion protection of a ZINCALUME® substrate with a durable resin formulation and cool pigment technology. Dura Tech® 5000 is Energy Star certified and listed with the Cool Roof Rating Council.
Before breaking ground on the project, a team of architects, engineers and contractors met with the owner, Sutter Health, to establish goals that would ensure a green project design. The facility’s design integrates sustainable building strategies from the ground up and complies with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria.
The use of green building materials, along with other and LEED-compliant innovations, demonstrates Sutter Health’s commitment to the local community and regional sustainability concerns.
The architect for the Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital was Hammel, Green and Abrahamson Inc., Roseville, CA. The general contractor was Unger Construction Co., Sacramento, CA. AEP Span metal panels were installed by Van Mulder Sheet Metal, Hayward, CA.
