After two years of planning and 14 months of construction, Timberline Bank has a new headquarters. Located on Market Street in Grand Junction, CO, the full-service banking facility is designed for work collaboration, practicality, performance,
and aesthetics. One of the products featured to give the building its distinctive, modern look was an aluminum composite panel system from Laminators Incorporated.
With picturesque views of the Colorado National Monument, the bank interior features open offices, adaptive workspaces, a rooftop terrace and bar with a fire pit, a coffee corner and soda fountain, and a grand staircase in the glass atrium.
The exterior of the 4-story, 40,000 sq. ft. building is just as impressive, featuring Laminators' Black and Slate Grey Omega-Lite® ACM panels. The architects from Blythe Group, a Grand Junction-based firm, chose Omega-Lite panels because they offer a highly decorative,
strong, and durable surface finish for exterior wall surfaces. Composed of a polypropylene, corrugated core between two finished aluminum sheets, these panels are non-absorbent, water-resistant, and easy to maintain.
The design and construction teams collaborated to custom-design, detail, and fabricate a beautiful and distinct three-dimensional diamond-shaped architectural feature. The band of diamond-shaped accent panels span across the entire building giving it the unique,
modernized look the architects and building owners desired.
The approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of Omega-Lite panels were distributed by Riddell and Company, Castle Rock, CO. Kruger Roofing, Grand Junction, installed the ACM panels using Laminators’ “Legacy Version” of their 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding
installation system. This proprietary system offers two different molding options: "H" and "Reveal H", both of which facilitate fast installation. Overseeing the construction was general contractor, FCI Constructors, Grand Junction,
CO.
In May 2019, Laminators introduced their new and improved field-fabricated installation systems, 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding and Clip & Caulk. These are fully integrated back-drained and ventilated systems, available with an optional continuous insulation component.
Since the onset of the new systems, Laminators has renamed and continues to support the previous 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding system as “Legacy Versions” of their systems. The legacy field-fabricated installation systems are ideal for various
architectural features, as well as when building codes do not require the high performance of the new back-drained and ventilated systems.
The “Legacy Version” of the Laminators 1-Piece, Tight-Fit Molding installation system can be installed over plywood (structural) or non-structural (gypsum) sheathing and also addresses NFPA 285 (National Fire Protection Association) compliance.
Laminators’ Omega-Lite panels installed with the 1-Piece, Tight-Fit system guaranteed Timberline Bank a class A fire rating. The system meets NFPA 285, Miami-Dade County Product Control, and Florida Product Approval requirements.
