Alfrex Strengthens Commercial Leadership Team With Addition Of Chastain
Meehan Also Added As Independent Sales Respresentative
Buford, GA – Alfrex is pleased to welcome two new additions to the Alfrex family: Samuel Chastain and Frank Meehan. Chastain has been named the Director of Commercial Operations for Alfrex FR metal composite material (MCM) and Alfrex Plate architectural
wall cladding product lines, while Meehan has joined the team as an independent sales representative for the Southwest region.
Chastain has 25 years of experience spanning North America, South America, and Europe, with leadership roles in sales, marketing, general management, and business development at companies including Alcoa Architectural Products, Alucoil North America,
and Facades United. Chastain holds a Master’s Degree in International Business from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University. He speaks
multiple languages including Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
In his role, Chastain will be engaged in direct sales and customer development with the Alfrex sales team to accelerate sales growth while leading internal operations that drive commercial excellence and customer success. “The addition of Samuel
is part of our strategy to form a powerful commercial team comprised of complimentary leaders with successful track records,” said Ryan Kim, owner and CEO of Alfrex. “Our long-term commitment to the market includes investment in local
manufacturing facilities as well as experienced people who know the industry and what it takes to earn customers’ business.”
Meehan, meanwhile, is a dedicated sales professional with over thirty years of architectural sales and marketing experience, and a proven track record of establishing and growing MCM brands in Corporate Identity and Architectural MCM market segments.
Early in his career, he helped pioneer and develop a highly successful East Coast business unit for Consolidated Aluminum while creating the single largest Corporate Identity ACM account for Alucobond. From the mid-1990’s through 2019,
he led the sales and business development efforts for Alcoa / Arconic on the West Coast and in Western Canadian provinces – driving dramatic increases in architectural MCM specifications and sales. In his new role, he will promote both
the Alfrex FR metal composite material (MCM) and Alfrex Plate architectural wall cladding product lines.
“Frank combines a lifetime of product and market wisdom with a wealth of consultative relationships with architects, specialty sub-contractors, distributors, and business owners”, said Herb Larsen, Director of Sales and Marketing for Alfrex.
“His entrepreneurial leadership skills and ability to approach the market strategically are perfect for the establishment of the Alfrex line of products in the Southwest region.”
Meehan holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and in 2000, secured an MBA. He is based out of Scottsdale, AZ.
Alfrex is investing in a new, FR-only MCM production facility in Buford, Georgia which will commence production in mid-2020. The operation will provide the market with a more competitive domestically produced FR ACM product with shorter lead times,
and a differentiated extended product line including 3mm thick, non-combustible, coil coated aluminum plate.
Alfrex, LLC is specialized in fire-resistant and non-combustible architectural metal wall cladding with a portfolio including Alfrex FR Metal Composite Material, matching flat sheet, coil coated aluminum Alfrex Plate, and primer-coated Alfrex plate for post painting small lot, custom colors. Its parent company, Unience, Co Ltd., began operation in 2000 as a manufacturer of specialty fire-resistant coatings, bonding materials, and pelletized mineral-filled FR compound for the manufacture of Fire-Resistant Aluminum and Metal Composite Panels (MCM). In 2008, after supplying numerous major MCM brands with FR compound, Unience launched Alfrex FR ACM in South Korea with a multi-line MCM production facility dedicated to the exclusive production of FR ACM utilizing in-house, fire-resistant core technology. Sales growth across 5 continents prompted the 2016 move of the Unience Global Headquarters to the USA and the establishment of Alfrex, LLC, with North American commercial offices in Atlanta and Toronto.
