VALTO Engineered Materials Introduces Fire-Rated GLASBOND

Channahon, IL — VALTO Engineered Materials, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality fiberglass reinforced panels (FRP), has introduced GLASBOND with an ASTM E84 Class A Fire Performance rating for its peel-and-stick panel and trim profile system. Class A per ASTM E84 is the highest fire-resistance rating requirement, common on many assembly and institutional occupancies where FRP is specified, including hospitals and schools.

As an innovator with a 70-year legacy in engineered composite materials, VALTO introduced GLASBOND in 2025. According to the company, the prefabricated adhesive-backed FRP hygienic wall solution enables installation up to 60% faster than traditional FRP. Its faster and cleaner installation, the company contends, is a significant advantage given market-wide labor shortages.

The Class A GLASBOND product enables contractors to service a broader range of commercial, healthcare, and other projects with strict coding standards that mandate superior fire resistance, while still delivering the labor-saving, fast installation, durability, and low-maintenance benefits inherent in GLASBOND.

At launch, GLASBOND’s next-generation technology featured a pebbled finish and Class C fire resistance. Since the successful product launch, product specifications have been updated to include several new substrates, a smooth-finish option, and now, an enhanced Class A fire rated product. Additional product developments are planned for 2026 to offer greater versatility and convenience.
