FGIA Updates Manual on Care, Handling of Architectural Aluminum Products

Schaumburg, IL – The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) has released an updated comprehensive manual covering the care and handling of architectural aluminum products through project completion. AAMA CW-10-26, Care and Handling of Architectural Aluminum from Shop to Site, an FGIA document, is now available for purchase in the FGIA online store. This document was last updated in 2015.

 This manual describes steps like visual inspection, care needed during mill fabrication and packing, tips for shipping to fabricators, proper unloading and storage techniques, installation checks and more.

“This latest version of AAMA CW-10 for the care and handling of architectural aluminum from shop to site minimize issues after the production and finishing procedures,” said Carl Troiano of Trojan Powder Coating, Chair of the FGIA AMC Finishes Committee. “This manual can ensure that quality finishes are preserved in the packaging and handling procedures included in it. This document is a very informative and should be used as a guide to all users.”

AAMA CW-10-26, as well as other documents available from FGIA, may be purchased from the online store at the discounted member rate of $25 or the non-member price of $70.
