From nine locations in Tennessee
and Mississippi, Bingham Nerve & Muscle provides state-of-the-art nerve and muscle testing to rural patients. To keep travel time between his clinics to a minimum, the medical practice's namesake physician, Dr. Ron Bingham, uses a mode of transportation he's especially fond of; he flies. The planes he uses for both business and pleasure are kept in a newly constructed hangar at the McKeller-Sipes Regional Airport in Jackson, TN. The new hangar features a 70' wide x 16' tall hydraulic hangar door from Schweiss Doors.
S & G Stephens Construction of Paris, TN, built the 90' wide x 70' deep hangar. The climate-controlled hangar includes a full bath, an office and storage space, and is big enough to accommodate multiple craft. Dr. Bingham keeps a CJ1 and a Cirrus SR22 inside, but the hangar can accommodate more, and larger craft.
“We typically have two small
planes and a Citation jet,” explains Bingham. “I chose a hydraulic
door because I wanted maximum clearance to accommodate as many Citation
models as we could,” Bingham says. “This door will accommodate a CJ3.”
Bingham says he learned about Schweiss Doors in a magazine years ago. He didn’t consider any other door manufacturer.
Bingham
is a 57-year-old father of four, living in Jackson. An avid aviation
enthusiast, he has owned more than 20 different planes since learning to
fly in 1989. He’s a private pilot with IFR and ME privileges. Bingham
is type-rated in the Citation 500 series and holds a Citation 525S
rating. His love of flying evolved from travels he took with his dad,
who was in the Peace Corps.
“I fly an SR22,” he says. “This plane
we use to serve eight satellite clinics throughout Tennessee and
Mississippi. I fly this plane along with three technologists to each of
our satellite clinics to provide nerve and muscle testing. I also
fly a Citation CJ; this plane is on lease to defray costs. I have
enjoyed buying and selling CJs in recent years. I think the CJ is a vey
smart plane with lots of utility. I often have two or three planes in
the hangar since my son is also a pilot.”
“I
love my door with remote opener,” Bingham says. “It’s reliable, quiet
and I love my hangar. I would recommend Schweiss Doors to anyone. They
manufacture quality, durable doors. Right now, I’m sitting outside the
hangar, just smiling while I look at it. I have never had any problems
after the initial install.”
