Headquartered in Lansing, MI, Auto-Owners Insurance is one of the nation’s leading property and casualty insurers in the United States. The company is represented by approximately 37,000 agents in more than 6,200 agencies around the country. Claims and underwriting staff operate out of regionally based offices located throughout the country. In Kentucky, those employees recently moved into a new 18,000 sq. ft. building in Lexington. Design-wise it reflects the agrarian and equine architecture for which Lexington is famous. Topping the structure is a Hartford Green Englert metal roof.
The building was designed by Mayotte Group Architects of Lansing and was built by WS Construction of Versailles, Kentucky. The design incorporates 33,000 square feet of Englert Series 2500 standing seam panels. The panels are 22” wide and were formed from 22-gauge prepainted steel. The same Hartford Green coil was used by Goddard & Carter Fabrication of Louisville, TN to fabricate the soffit panels. Heavier 20-gauge 4 x 10 flat sheets were used to fabricate the project’s fascia panels. Burnett Sons Roofing, Inc. of Lexington handled the installation of all the metal systems.
