In the River North Art District of Denver, there are plenty of galleries, craft brewers and street art. The Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation development is bringing a new kind of creativity to the city by offering tenants office spaces along with a restaurant,
retail, workout facility, conference rooms and beautiful views of downtown Denver. Clean, attractive and modern, the building’s exterior is accented with insulated metal wall panels from Kingspan Insulated Panels – North America.
Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation was created to be an industry integrator, bringing together major healthcare systems, doctors, universities, non-profit groups and startups to foster partnerships, communications and solutions to common challenges. The
seven-story, 190,000 square-foot structure opened in July 2018, with plans for a second building in the future.
The building, designed by The Beck Group, was intended to create “serendipitous collisions” – interactions between people from different companies where they exchange meaningful ideas. Those interactions could take place in the
building’s open atrium lobby, going up or down one of the wide staircases, in the community kitchen, working out in the fitness facility, taking in the view of the Denver skyline from a balcony, or grabbing a cup of coffee in the street-level
café.
“It’s not just startups, it’s Fortune 500 non-profit academia. We designed the building in such a way that there are serendipitous collisions for these thought leaders to get together,” said Dean Koelbel, director of leasing operations
for Denver-based developer Koelbel and Company, to Mile High CRE. “The ultimate goal is to build an environment where collaboration accelerates innovation within both the digital health industry, and the Denver community as a whole.”
More than 14,000 square feet of Kingspan Optimo Wall Panels finished in pewter were used on the Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation exterior.
Optimo architectural panels deliver a flat, modern look while meeting the demand for a high-performing building envelope. They are GREENGUARD Gold certified and can now be ordered with QuadCore Technology, Kingspan’s next generation of self-blended
hybrid insulation core.
Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation owners are pursuing WELL certification for the building, and Kingspan panels are integral to this process. More and more architects are discovering that insulated metal panels provide sustainable benefits such as thermal
performance, reductions in energy intensity, the use of recycled materials, a long life span, as well as providing a distinctive aesthetic.
