While cost effectiveness and durability were important, the ability of ALPOLIC® ACM (aluminum composite material) to complement exterior building products fabricated from sandstone and limestone was also a factor into its specification on the initial building at the new Edward Jones Southwest Campus in Tempe, AZ.

Arcturis, with offices in St. Louis, MO, and Tempe, developed the campus’ master plan and designed the first building. It utilized more than 21,000 sq. ft. of 4mm-thick, polyethylene-cored material in the design, which establishes an aesthetic character for future buildings to follow.

ALPOLIC® ACM material is manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical FP America Inc. of Chesapeake, VA, and is available in a variety of colors and finishes. For its project, Arcturis chose material with a Mica Platinum paint finish from PPG Industries. The material was fabricated into panels by Universe Corp. of St. Louis, and then installed by Chandler, AZ-based Kovach Inc. using the fabricator’s proprietary Universe 2000 wet seal attachment system.
