Goodgame Company Inc. of Pell City, Alabama was awarded 1st Runner Up in American Buildings’ 2022 Excellence in Design Awards,
as well as 1st Place in the Office category, for the Southern Food Brokers project in Lincoln, Alabama.
With the goal of creating a modern office that would be easy to maintain in the future and to highlight the growth of the company, Goodgame Company built a pre-engineered metal building for Southern Food Brokers, a retail food broker of perishable foods
in the Southeast. The 9,208 sq. ft. building displays a juxtaposition of contemporary lines with a single-slope roof with eave high overhangs and 1:12 roof pitch, against the combination of added rock and brick on the exterior delivering a rustic
feel - a style fitting to the views of the countryside. The structure utilizes American Buildings’ Standing Seam II roof system.
The highly anticipated Excellence in Design Awards competition is open to all American Buildings Authorized Builders. The awards recognize Builders for their innovation, diverse application, and distinction in design in the metal buildings industry. Winners
are selected by an independent panel of judges.
This year, judges chose from over 100 entries and selected the best projects in each of the following categories: Agriculture; Auto Dealership; Church/Religious Centers; Commercial; Government/Institutional; Manufacturing/Industrial; Office; Recreation;
Retail; Special Projects; Transportation; and Warehouse/Distribution.
Winners were announced for each category and were eligible to compete for the Excellence in Design top award: 2022 Building of the Year.
“The Excellence in Design Awards highlight the talented professionals in the metal buildings industry,” said Carlie Smith, Marketing Director for Nucor Buildings Group. “We are continually impressed by the quality of projects submitted
each year for our Excellence in Design Program and commend our skilled Builders on the completion of so many inspiring, innovative metal building projects. We are honored to award 1st Runner Up to Goodgame Company Inc. for the Southern Food Brokers
project.”
