More than 30,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span insulated panels, featuring a custom reveal system and several custom module widths, highlight the new Lapel High School in Lapel, IN.

The 3” CF Architectural panels were finished in Monroe Bisque and produced in custom module widths of 24”, 28”, 29 ¼” and 32”. They also have a custom reveal that is 4 3/8” tall by 2 3/8” deep.

The custom system was developed by Metl-Span in conjunction with its strategic partner, ProCLAD Inc., Noblesville, IN. “One of the reasons for the unusually deep reveal was to coordinate with the banding in the masonry that goes around the building,” said Brad Hitzfield, president of ProCLAD. “The banding in the masonry is in the same line as our custom reveal so we were able to maintain the shadow lines even through the metal panels.”

The panels were used to enclose the higher elevations such as the gymnasium and auditorium and were also radiused to accent the entryway.

“In order to meet the designer’s needs, Metl-Span and ProCLAD developed and tested a new joint for the CF Architectural panel. Without hesitation Metl-Span went far beyond their normal product offering to deliver this custom panel profile. This is one of the reasons ProCLAD works very closely with Metl-Span,” Hitzfield said. “As a result, we have a great looking project and a very happy customer.”

Architectural design was provided by Lorenz Williams Clinton, Richmond, IN. The general contractor on the project was MacDougall Pierce Construction, Fishers, IN.
