The Clarks Logistic Center in Hanover, Pa., is a 451,000-square-foot distribution facility. Built with the company’s future in mind, the project uses the latest in material handling technology. The center ships out an average of 100,000 pairs of shoes a day through the use of 4-1/2 miles of conveyor belts and an employee base of nearly 500. Designers implemented a distinctive aesthetic and sustainable product choices to create an environmentally friendly and visually impactful facility. The building achieved LEED® Gold Certification for its high-performance building envelope, among other factors.

Architectural metal products from CENTRIA were chosen specifically for their high level of environmental sustainability because Clarks was concerned with lowering their ecological footprint. Additionally, the project was on a very tight schedule. CENTRIA’s products, known for their efficient installation times, were ideal to help keep the project on time.

CENTRIA’s Formawall® Dimension Series® is one of today’s most preferred metal wall systems because of its combination of performance, aesthetics and sustainability. Formawall Dimension Series is manufactured as one component, resulting in a wall system that provides both advanced thermal efficiency and moisture control in a single panelized component. The single component construction results in less jobsite waste, which helps make it a more environmentally friendly option and helps to keep projects on budget and on time.

CENTRIA Versawall’s® lightweight, insulated metal composite panels feature concealed fasteners and are designed with double tongue-and-groove joinery. The factory foam-insulated system includes a thermal break between panel face and liner for outstanding thermal performance. The panels also provide outstanding weather resistance and were able to be installed quickly and easily.

CENTRIA’s C/S Louvers were chosen because they come in a variety of gauges, colors and finishes to match the corresponding CENTRIA panels and blend invisibly into walls, eliminating visual breaks. These products were an important part of the architect’s aesthetic vision.

The architect was GNF Architects and Engineers of Lexington, KY. The CENTRIA products dealer was Wade Architectural Systems of Humble, TX. The CENTRIA products installer was National Panel Systems of Wexford, PA. The contractor was Gray Construction of Lexington, KY. The project was completed in July 2012.
