With its clean lines, large windows and polished aluminum detailing, the new headquarters of Midwest Testing in St. Louis, MO, is modern and inviting. It was designed by Treanor Architects of Lawrence, KS, and features above its main entrance a curved aluminum canopy from Mapes Canopies LLC of Lincoln, NE.

Utilized on the project was Mapes’ Super Lumideck Arched Canopy system. Extending 6’ out from the building wall, it measures 19’6” from end to end. It is trimmed with matching-finish 8” J fascia.

The project was referred through Manchester Hackett. Handling the Mapes canopy installation was Architectural Sheet Metal Systems. GS & S Construction Co. was the general contractor. All three firms are headquartered in St. Louis. The building was completed in May 2008.

About Mapes Canopies

Mapes canopies can be designed to meet almost any specification and are built under the strictest quality control. The company’s Lumishade is a permanent all-weather canopy that can be used in any critical, high-load environment. The Super Lumideck hanger rod canopy is the pre-engineered, all extruded counterpart to the Lumishade design. It can be used in applications where there is a need for both high loads and long spans.
