Situated in Plano, TX, the new Plano Material Recovery Facility combines Varco Pruden Buildings' Rigid Frame and WideBay framing systems with conventional/custom steel construction. The 71,844 sq. ft. facility was selected as the winner of the Government category in the 2020 Varco Pruden Hall Of Fame presentation.
The material processing building used Rigid Frames and WideBay roof secondary members. Varco Pruden's Vee Rib wall panels in Cool Metallic Silver color, along with WallLite panels, were used on the exterior. The roof is Varco Pruden's SSR profile in Cool Cotton White color. The two-story office attached to the material processing building was constructed with conventional methods; the office exterior is CMU construction.
The building attained LEED Silver certification.
The Varco Pruden Builder and designer was Anchor Construction LLC of Granger, IN. The building owner is Republic Services Inc. of Phoenix, AZ.
The project was completed in September 2019.
