The luxurious new Renaissance Hotel at Patriot Place anchors 1.3 million sq. ft. of shopping, entertainment and commercial space located adjacent to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, in Foxborough, MA. The five-story, four-star hotel and spa offers a distinctive personality and dramatic views of the stadium.

Approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of Metl-Span CFA Architectural insulated wall panels finished in Cool Metallic Silver were utilized on the hotel's exterior. The 2 ½” thick panels were installed horizontally.

The design-build firm responsible for the project was Pro Con, Inc., Hooksett, NH.

Installation of the panels was done by Barnes Buildings & Management Group, Inc., Weymouth, MA. According to president Marty Barnes, “The project was facing some budget issues and Pro Con was looking for ways to save money throughout the job. Pro Con was aware of a previous job we did using Metl-Span panels that had a similar look to what they wanted for the hotel. We went through the design details of the CFA panels and Pro Con decided they had the first class image that was needed.”

Design for the project was done by PCI Architecture, a division of Pro Con, Inc. “We took our design cues from Gillette Stadium and the adjoining Patriot Place,” said Matt Wirth, project manager. “The one-piece construction of the Metl-Span panels was a benefit because the Massachusetts energy code requires putting the insulation to the outside.”

Marty Barnes concurs that Metl-Span’s R value was important. “The wall assembly provided all of the insulation value needed to meet code,” he said.
