Metal Worx Systems Inc. of Plain City, OH, shop-rollformed the SS1520 standing seam metal roof panels that top the Piqua Day Care Center in Piqua, OH. Exterior Systems Inc. was the installer.

The material from which the 12,000 sq. ft. of panels were formed was COOLR® roofing metal from Sheffield Metals of Sheffield Village, OH. COOLR® roofing metals are available in a variety of colors and finishes, but in the case of the day care project, 24-gauge Galvalume-coated steel in a Slate Gray color was chosen.

COOLR® metals are sustainable and energy efficient, and meet the performance criteria of the EPA's Energy Star program. Sheffield Metals stocks COOLR® metals in more than two dozen colors, including acrylic-coated Galvalume, and offers the material in a variety of gauges, widths and substrates for low- and steep-slope applications. The metal features 25%-minimum recycled content and is 100% recyclable.
