The 31,000 sq. ft. Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Mounds View Fire Station in Blaine, MN, represents a merger of two older stations. Designed by Tushie Montgomery Architecture of Minneapolis, MN, and completed in September 2006, it features on its exterior metal construction products from Firestone Building Products.
Firestone’s .040”-thick aluminum Series 10 Honeycomb Wall Panels and .125”-thick aluminum Series 100 Column Covers—both in a Champagne Metallic color—were selected for the project for reasons related to both cost and quality. “The general contractor, Bossardt Corporation, had a very specific task: complete the project on time and under budget,” said a project release by Firestone. “To help meet these objectives, Firestone supplied the Series 10 honeycomb panels and Series 100 square column covers on the entrance of the building.” Both were installed by Jadco Supply & Equipment of Minneapolis.
Amenities of the facility include a training room, conference room, administrative offices, kitchen and lounge.
